International Customs Day 2021: The Minister of Finance and Budget insisted on "a more resilient and efficient Customs" for our economy’s recovery

Despite the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Senegal Customs’ Administration must keep up its role for an effective economic recovery. During the International Customs’ Day celebration on January 26th, the Minister of Finance and Budget, Mr. Abdoulaye Daouda DIALLO, indicated that the Medium-Term Revenue Mobilization Strategy (SRMT) as well as the Customs’ Administration Modernization Plan (PROMAD) should be the backbone "in the consolidation of a more resilient and efficient Customs".

The ORBUS 2000 system is developed to make easier procedures of international trade by using electronic communication or exchanges. This allows interconnecting different stakeholders evolving in the international trade. The system is also based on technological infrastructure and a device of services.

The electronic payment of customs’ duties and assimilated taxes consists of giving to the economic operatorthe ability to pay the amount of customs’ duties from one’s work station, by charging an account opened in a commercial bank.
