On this Friday September 9th, The Customs’ general Director has undertaken a field visit of the yards where the optical fibre is being installed.

Along with the Customs Operations Director, the Director of the Customs Information System, the Chief of the Particular Office, and the Head of Communications & PR Office, The Director general began his tour at the Dakar Oils Offices, starting point of the Northern loop.

The delegation then made an inspection visit of the other Port’s Units as well as the Maritime Bureau. 

According to the chief of the Information processing Office (BIP) and the Network team of the Customs Information System Directorate, the use of this technology will enable to secure the connexion, provide a better conductivity and reinforce service continuity.

In a dynamic willing to increase the GAINDE system’s performance, the Customs general Directorate, in partnership with the SODIMEL company, has undertaken the deployment of the optical fiber technology on all the Port’s areas where customs units are present, in order to improve the quality of service provided to customers.
