On Thursday May 11th 2017, the Customs Multipurpose Enforcement and Punishment Group (GPR) filed 1,805 tons of counterfeit drugs from various brands in a warehouse at Thiaroye. One person was arrested.
Customs officers of this unit based in Thies seized this important fraudulent quantity of drugs after getting a key information. The seizure is estimated at 30 million FCFA.
On the same day, Rosso officers also seized 87 cartons of fake medicines (Tetracycline, Paracetamol, Ocytétracyline, Alben, Alex) and 64 cartons of fraudulent electrical batteries. The value of these entries is 7, 630,000 F.
These customs operations contribute to the protection of the public health and safety of populations.
