The Customs Office for Social & Cultural Affairs and sports, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Center, organized a blood donation day on Wednesday, August 10th, 2016. This Day was held in the presence of Customs officials at the headquarters in Block Madeleines. 

For Cheikh Diop, the Head of Customs Office responsible for Social & Cultural Affairs, and sports, organizing this day complies within the Customs social policy. This action was done in collaboration with  Senegal’s National Association of blood donor volunteers and the National Blood Transfusion center. This action is motivated by a desire to supply the blood-bank in order to overcome current deficit of blood supply. The objective of this day is to register a minimu of 250 blood donation.

According to the Coordinator of of Customs, Colonel Moctar Kettani DOUCOURE, this action showcases the social dimension of Customs. He describes this activity as “a high-range civil act to enable the blood bank to be adequately provisioned.”

The Customs General Director, Papa Ousmane Gueye has decided to extend this action at a national level so that all officers will have the opportunity to contribute to this noble act, which can save lives. As a citizen commitment it embodies the motto CUSTOMS-NATION.

The Senegales Customs’ Administration intends to schedule this day in its agenda, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Center. The Customs delegation will, during its national tour throughout the country, perpetuate this social action to better serve the nation.
