The costs of investments in this domain have highly increased after 2000, (1, 5 f CFA billion for the laptops, of the Back Up, high availability. Other same investments have been done in the key technological areas. With the intention of authorities of the Ministry of Economy and Finances, the Customs received:
– A scanner evaluated to 4 billion CFA francs, in order to encourage important trade activities in the port, In addition to that, we have the continuous light functioning of ports’ services effective since May 2008.
– The Electronic Surveillance System of goods in transit, costing more than tens of billions Francs CFA has also been adopted.
– Naval means to fight against smuggling and other sort of illegal practices at sea is part of the modernization. In 2007, the Senegalese State has given to the Customs one naval fleet and 11 launches estimated at six (6) billion francs CFA.
The Customs has already integrated suitable procedures around the Integrated and Special Economic Area and the International Airport of DIASS, named Blaise Diagne to anticipate in future challenges.
