The Dakar-Extétieur Customs Subdivision seized the oil, coming from Sierra Leone, declared in transit for Mali. It was supposed to leave the country for its final destination. But the product was fraudulently dumped in customs territory and ended up in a commercial depot in Cambérène. It is 8,052 20 liter cans of vegetable oil, or 161,040 liters packaged in 6 containers that was seized. The Customs Code qualified this fraud as importation without declaration. Agents of the Special and Research Brigade, Subdivision des Douanes de Dakar-Exterior, traced the network to find the perpetrators of the offense on Tuesday, September 29th 2020. The seizure is estimated at 100 million CFA francs. Customs investigation and procedure are ongoing.
