The Mobile Customs’ Brigade of Koungheul, Kaffrine Subdivision, and Central Customs Region just made a record seizure of 2 tones 282 kg of Indian hemp. On Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020, at 7 p.m. customs operated to this great catch on a truck from Mali. The prohibited product was packaged in 1141 sachets of 2 kg each, concealed in bags and hidden in the above mentioned vehicle. The truck, which appeared empty, was intended to be commonplace to escape the vigilance of Customs officers.
But the customs’ officers’ professionalism got the better of the traffickers’ modus operandi. The seizure is worth at 182,560,000 CFA francs.
