On Friday, December 13th, 2019 the High Commander of the National Gendarmerie and Head of the Military Justice, Jean Baptiste TINE paid a courtesy visit to the Customs general Directorate. He was greeted by Mr. Moctar Kettani Doucouré, deputy of the general Director. The delegation was then honored by a detachment from the Customs School. After this welcoming ceremony, the Major General Jean Baptiste TINE was received by the Customs general Director, Oumar DIALLO with whom he discussed privately. The major general then continued his visit with a working session between both administrations’ boards
In his welcoming speech, the Customs general Director was delighted by the initiative of the new Head of Gendarmerie to visit customs’ administration first. In the same framework the Head of customs insisted on the need to strengthen cooperation between the two Administrations. That is to join forces in order to better face the challenges of their respective missions.
“Customs is ready to work with the gendarmerie for security missions’ achievements”, reaffirmed the Head of Customs before warmly thanking the High Commander of the Gendarmerie for his visit.
For its part, the High Commander echoed with his counterpart the need to implement the partnership agreement between the two administrations for more effective actions. “There is no economy without security and no security without economy,” added the High Commander pointing out the interdependence between the two services. Major General Jean Baptiste TINE paid tribute to the Customs’ general directorate and his staff for the welcome which was extended to him. The visit ended with an exchange of gifts between the two men.
