New acquisitions and achievements

The costs of investments in this domain have highly increased after 2000, (1, 5 f CFA billion for the laptops, of the Back Up, high availability. Other same investments have been done in the key technological areas. With the intention of authorities of the Ministry of Economy and Finances, the Customs received:

- A scanner evaluated to 4 billion CFA francs, in order to encourage important trade activities in the port, In addition to that, we have the continuous light functioning of ports’ services effective since May 2008. 
- The Electronic Surveillance System of goods in transit, costing more than tens of billions Francs CFA has also been adopted.
- Naval means to fight against smuggling and other sort of illegal practices at sea is part of the modernization. In 2007, the Senegalese State has given to the Customs one naval fleet and 11 launches estimated at six (6) billion francs CFA. 

The Customs has already integrated suitable procedures around the Integrated and Special Economic Area and the International Airport of DIASS, named Blaise Diagne to anticipate in future challenges.

By the end of 2013, total budgetary goals of the Customs’ administration come to 567 billion against the annual target amount to 537 billion.

GAINDE

GAINDE or the automatic management of customs information is a strategic platform of Senegalese customs, centered on the management of customs’ clearance. "GAINDE Integral" improves considerably the way of managing procedures. Thus people move from less paper topaperless or electronic processing,known as the dematerialization. This technological revolution in the customs’ Administration aims at great feats and better service for the public.

Orbus

The ORBUS 2000 system is developed to make easier procedures of international trade by using electronic communication or exchanges. This allows interconnecting different stakeholders evolving in the international trade. The system is also based on technological infrastructure and a device of services.

The electronic payment of customs’ duties and assimilated taxes consists of giving to the economic operatorthe ability to pay the amount of customs’ duties from one’s work station, by charging an account opened in a commercial bank.
